I think you should be fine. It is always smart to have your friends and others you trust know whenever you are meeting a new person (especially online or even friend setup). Make sure it is in a public setting with people around and you are able to get a ride home safely. It seems you should be all set since you are bringing your friend and her bf. Just be yourself and enjoy your time meeting Chase.

First off, how long have you known him or have been talking to him? If it has only been a few weeks I would hold off. You might feel comfortable with talking to him online but he can be completely different online. People can change how they look and act online versus what they look like and act in reality. This guy may be a complete jerk and possibly worse. On the other hand, he might turn out to be the man of your dreams. I would play it safe. You are at least thinking about being safe when you bring someone else along (especially a friend with a bf). Make sure you guys meet in a public place and also make sure that other friends know where you are going incase anything bad happens. When you first meet him and get a vibe that you do not like, go with your instinct and ditch him. I know it may be rude to ditch someone but your instinct is usually right. I am not trying to be rude but things can go bad and you need to be aware of them. Go with your gut feeling. Good luck.

I think it's a good idea to take someone with you - just becareful. I always cringe when someone says they're meeting someone they met only because of all the horror stories.

My advice:
1) As you are - don't go alone.
2) Meet in a public place.
3) Take pepper spray - just incase!
4) Assuming all goes well and he's a nice 17 year old boy - just be yourself and get to know each other.

If you really want to go meet him i think you should... But, make sure you have some type of adult supervision or a friend in a cell phone handy just in case he turns out not to be 17yrs old allot of times people on line lie about there age in order to target innocent bystanders so be aware of what you are up against and be safe..

You've given yourself the best advice already - safety is in numbers. You made a very wise decision to meet him in a public place and take your friends with you. My hat goes off to your for being a smart 17 year old.

Deffinately go. Bring your friends w/ & meet in a public place. Do the same for the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th dates. During those dates, get to know more about him like his address & stuff to inform your friends of.

I say go meet him, just go to a public place, like a restaurant or the mall or something. You're doing the right thing by taking friends along.

Good luck!

Just make sure you take someone with you.
Be safe and if it all works out have fun and enjoy yourself! Also just to be one the safe side let your parents know where you are going.

Make sure you are with friends, and approach him like a friend, there is a pretty good chance he is only interested in sex.
