Fasting does detox you but pls go to a Ayurvedic Doc. or Naturopathy Doc they know how to help a person start a fast and then stay fasting. With the fasting you must be quiet, relaxed and resting, we do not eat as we want out body organs to relax and rest. But if you are working as you are fasting then the whole idea is lost.
So pls meet a naturopath or Ayurvedic Doc. and then proceed..
My longest fast was 35 days just on plain water with a drop of lemon and a few drops of honey...but i was in a Ayurvedic Ashram ...Docs were with me 24/7 checked me every 2 yrs.
Good luck

Fasting is not healthy. Your body needs a steady supply of food and nutrients to function. Instead, try a Detox tea (Triple Leaf makes one). Cut out eating and drinking garbage, eat light, healthy meals, and take the detox tea to rid yourself of any toxins you already have in your body.

The right way to detox: cut out coffee, alcohol, saturated fats and excess sugar and you'll also eliminate hundreds of empty calories that add extra pounds... If you feel your body could use a spring cleaning of sorts, you may have considered a "detoxing" program. But what's considered "detoxification" covers a wide spectrum of regimens, ranging from simply giving up coffee for a few days to a lengthy, liquid-only fast.
Making a concentrated effort for as little as two weeks to remove or reduce these foods from your diet can break their addictionlike lure and lessen your desire for them. Consequently, you'll eat less junk, and over time your body can devote more of a concerted effort to staying healthy

I heard fasting is very bad for your body. Puts it in starvation mode and messes up your metabolism and stuff like that. But I'm really interested in trying to detox too, so hopefully someone else will answer your question and mention a safe detox program.

What are you worried about? Did you do psychadelic drugs or smoke or drink too much? Did you eat alot of McDonalds? If I was you I would purge your body of toxins by making a nice batch of ratatouille. Also, coffee and tea and fruit juice are loaded with antioxidants.

yes fasting can, but so does ommitting certain fats. just by decreasing my portion size i went thru a detox. i broke out w/ 3 zits and my skin looked horrid. but i did a "spa" treatment (homemade of course) and it looks great. but when you get rid of junk, no matter how much, your body goes thru a cleansing. so i wouldnt see why you'd have to fast. it's drastic and unhealthy if done without a doc's approval. good luck!

It depends on what you are trying to get rid of and drinking PLENTY of liquids is part of the process especially water and lots of it. You must eat though to maintain body strength or you will run into some very nasty problems.

Yes fasting is very good for your body. If you look back into fasting it started out as an act to get closer to God. But besides the spirtual benefits there are also health benefits. Peace out.....

the best way to detox your body is to drink lemon water (water with lemon) and eat lots of fruits and veggies- this will keep your body detoxed all the time.
