Don't live your life worrying about what other people think, you'll never be happy.
If you like the guy go out with him. Your personal life is none of anyone's business.

honestly, don't even worry about it. a year is little difference. if it's high school sometimes people are immature about it, but don't listen to them. (I'm a senior and see immaturity in all forms all the time). I've dated a guy younger than me and my friends thought it was kinda weird, but they're very traditional in that respect. today there isn't a standard be the same age or the guy is older like there used to be. if you like him, definitely go out with him. you never know how something will work until you try it out. good luck and i hope everything works out with him!

It is more an issue if you are comfortable with yourself. You should not be caught up with other people's impression. Since he is one year younger, that is nothing. My sister dated guys a good 5-7 years her junior. How did she do it? 1) She did not let the age bother her 2) She was comfortable with herself 3) She enjoyed the times she had with her boyfriends

I don't know how old you are, but this is a pretty lame question. You are worried about a little teasing? Thicken your skin. Can't let something like that get to you.
A year never means anything.
You should also try to sound like you aren't a freaked out little girl. It's kind of pathetic.

Who will be dating him? You or your school? Who cares that he is a year younger then you, I thought you were going to say 5-10 years difference or something........Follow your heart!!
Advice: If you start now worrying about what people think about what you are doing or who you are involved with, then you will continue to have this same problem.....
Go for it!!! Peace!

Dont worry about what people think. Age is only a number. My wife was 19 and I was 40 when we married. We had a baby and all is wonderful.

It depends on how old you are. If he is in 6th grade and you are 7th, people might tease you because he is still in elementary school and you are in middle school (or 5th and 6th if that's how your school system is).
If you are 10th and 11th graders, it doesn't matter so much.
Once you are out of school it really doesn't matter at all.

As long as he is not in a whole nother school because he is a grade below you. You should be fine and men treat older women like royalty.

A year isn't anything to worry about...besides, part of beign mature enough to date is in spending your time with who you want to, and not worrying about what other people think.
