I want to have my twin boy's birthday party at a Children's museum. The rented room occupies 30. Last year's party was at a park and there was quite a few more than 30. Is it OK to exclude people who dont have children? The party also includes free admission to the museum. Families with children would have the most benefit/use of the museum. But it doesnt quite feel right to me. What should I do?

The museum caters specifically to kids. I'd say ages 1-12. There are no precious work of art...except the ones your kids create. :P

My half brother's mom has a big family and my Dad and Step mom give him a party for HIM. They only invite his friends (which usually includeds all the kids in his class and some close cousins of the same age).

Now, if they had room or whatever, they could easily invite 100+ people who would come, but it's about my brother having fun, so they only invite the people HE would choose to invite.

I have to agree with both of the first two answers.

First, You can't NOT invite family unless they aren't close. That is just rude and inconsiderate. You may want to call people and ask them if they would like to attend and explain that there is a limit to how many peole you can invite.

However, I would choose a different location. A museum is not a proper place for a child's birthday place. The other folks who are visiting that day may not appreciate all the noise that the kids make.

You want to choose an age appropriate place for the kids. Are they old enough to appreciate the museum?
Is it a museum FOR kids specifically?

As far as inviting people who don't have children, well, this is what bothers me: people need to understand that this is a KIDS birthday party, NOT adult. You need to invite peole that the kids would enjoy visiting with on this particular day.

Remember, this is THEIR day, not yours or anybody else's. It belongs to them! You are celebrating THEIR birth! I hate people who think they are ENTITLEDt o be invited! UGH!

Also, you don't want to invite too many people because as you stated that this includes free admision, the curator may feel you are taking advantage. So you want to limit the amount of guests to what limit the curator will accept.

Remember to be curteous to them and they will remember that the next time you or one of your relatives, friends or associates want to have another party there.

I even have on no account heard absolutely everyone say they assume presents from each and each baby invited. I even have 3 infants and whilst they have been youthful, they have been invited to many birthday events jointly. i bought one present from the relatives!! Do you somewhat think of those infants' mum and dad are created from money?? And each and all the birthday events I threw for my infants, they have been given one present from each and each relatives. you somewhat can not analyze Christmas. each and every relatives does Christmas distinctive and that's relatives. some families do no longer even replace provides using fact it gets only too high priced. in case you think of your travelers are freeloaders, perhaps you need to do an incredible relatives party for the reason which you think of your son's friends are impolite. You communicate approximately your lofty reasons for coaching your baby to offer, yet you're additionally coaching him to assume provides. My infants have been taught to have relaxing at birthdays and yule and in the event that they have been blessed sufficient to get a latest or 2, they have been to be grateful. Why are you even keeping song?? EDIT: i'm rereading your question and that i'm astounded by employing your gall. What you spend on any social gathering is YOUR determination. what share travelers you pay for is YOUR determination. Your travelers are no longer obligated by any skill to pay you back for the fee of the social gathering. I even have on no account spent $35 on a baby's birthday present. pondering the form of events my 3 infants have been invited to, i could have long gone broke. and that i on no account as quickly as counted what share presents my infants won. i'm able to purely think of the type you judged the travelers at your wedding ceremony. Shameful!!

You can always throw an adult (or family) party later. Honestly, I don't know why adults would want to go to a children's museum anyway. If someone does get offended, just explain that there is limited space and that it was a children's party.

The party is for your twins. You'll make the right decision if you just remember to do what is best for them to have a great day. Don't worry about adults being insulted or hurt by not being invited to a children's party. Especially if they don't have kids. You already know what to do. Best Wishes.

Hmmm; you are in a pickle, aren't you? If the childless people are relatives of one kind or another, excluding them is out of the question. Friends MAY understand, family will not.

I'd chose another locale, or you could be living this one down for a few years.
