Okay, first of all - I'm not a Christian.
But, you have no idea what you are talking about. You can not be serious. You must live in the rich suburbs, or a fantasy land, or a serious trip.
But, legalizing drugs would not do what you think. Maybe marijuana. If you say "all drugs" - you could not be more wrong. I know from experience. Myself and people who are very close to me.
First - The price would not be reasonable. Just as cigarettes increase every year - drugs would as well. They would be taxed like crazy. Not to mention, have you ever talked to anyone who did drugs 30 years ago? The price has risen so much since then. I know people who say 30 years ago, you could get a now $40 bag for $5.
Second - People who traffic drugs are not nice people.
Third - Addicts would commit crimes to feed their habit. They would do what it takes to get money to feed their habit. In case you weren't aware - most addicts of hard drugs aren't that great at holding down successful jobs. Most true "addicts" steal for money. They don't steal the drugs. So, actually - you would have more addicts which would equal more crime.
Fourth - overdoses are not prevented by fear. How many people with drug problems do you know that get scared of the affects of the drug and quit? Are you kidding me? They know the health affects - it doesn't matter.
There is nothing glamorous about using drugs now. Only in movies. And that would never change - it would just create more story lines.
I have to admit - this is THE most ignorant question I've ever seen on here.
Get real.

stupid..thats all that is. okay so u say legalize it. ok its at your nearest cvs or walgreens. ur prescirbed and u pay like $30. but then think about. cheap prices everyone would do it. then there would be a demand on this causing more crisis and people not having enough drugs to go around. who cares about drops in murders and safer streets. i would see a decrease in life expectancy and health. there is no way to do all those above. there is no such thing as having a perfect world. this is just temporary just face it. instead of worrying about all that, live for now and prepare for what comes ahead.
heres another thing off topic:
about you people saying christianity this and christianity that. you probably are more closed minded. christianity is not a religion its a way of life. religion. who cares about religion. who created religion?? us. humans. its just like everything else we created just based on faith. christianity is more than killing millions of people. tell me can you tell the difference between a catholic and a baptist or protestants or other branches? they're all just created. but its what you believe. so if you say " ban religion" go ahead but that wont make a difference on the faith of us Jesus-followers (and just God-believers. anyone can believe in God. Hitler probably believed in God but does that make a difference in how he acted? no. so its more than just believing. its life)

first of all, what on earth makes you think it's christians that are making drugs illegal?? for your information, christians do not make the laws. government does. so complain to them.
second, i think you need to lighten up on the drugs yourself. do you really think our streets will be safer with a bunch of coked up junkies, crack addicts, and heroin freaks wandering freely where children are playing and teenage girls are hanging out with friends?? if you do, your brain must be fried to a crisp.
and last, while we're at it, let's just give bank robbers money so they will stop robbing banks. let's legalize rape so sex offenders won't kill their victims out of fear of them going to the police.
tell you what. let's just eliminate ALL laws. let people commit murder, rape, pillaging, and etc. that's a good way to eliminate crime, isn't it??
jeez, has someone taken an idiot pill this morning??

You make absolutely no sense. Many people don't believe in drug legalization...not just Christians. Of course we all want a better world...most of us just doubt that is the way to accomplish it.

Didn't Britain do something like that to China? they had a few wars over it, and China lost a large portion of its population to opium. the addicts sold all they could to fuel their addiction even their wives and daughters.the whole country was brought to ruin.

I'm sorry, but making a better world is basically impossible. No, that is not the aim of Christians. Our aim is to bring people to God, for those people to understand that we live in a fallen world, and that we have all sinned and need Jesus Christ.

I am not here to make a better world, but to lead people to Christ. Even Jesus did not come here to make the world a better place. Your drugs are a trap and put you in bondage to Satan.

Christians are not here to make the world a better place, they are left here to call ppl out of the world into a marvelous light.
Not to reform a world that the Bible says will wear out like old clothing.

Actually, our commandment is to preach the Gospel. This world will eventually pass away, although we are also commanded to love our neighbors, and live the best life that we can.

The only way this world will be a better place is when GOD comes to make right all the wrongs that have been done. Thank you and may GOD bless.
