You definately need to make sure there are no electrical wires or Plumbing pipes behind the wall you drill! Other than that make sure you drill into a stud! Once you find the stud, start a hole with your drill, then insert the eyebolt for the hammock, use washers! And paint around bolt with weather sealer.

if your going to hang it from the side of your house... you should look for something solid to put a anchor bolt to... you can not just drill into the side of the house and place an eye-bolt.. you will tear it out of the wall... the best way I can think to do this is to get everything you need in front of you.... will you will need sheetrock repair kit.. eye-bolt that can hold your weight plus some maybe 2 of you..some caulk and say..... a 2 x 6 cut to the distant between your 2 x 4 studs in the walls... once you have all this... find the place you want to place the hammock... take a long drill bit... long enough to drill from the outside to the inside of the house... drill the hole.. go inside.. cut out the sheet rock.... smear some of the caulk on the 2 x 6 flat side then with the 2 x 6 laying flat agaist the wall and between the 2x4s nail it in placeagainst the outside wall.. redrill the hole and place the eye-bolt from the outside through the hole in the wall and through the 2x6 tighten this down with 2 nuts or 1 nut and a lock washer and patch the sheet rock... then go outside and seal the hole around the eye-bolt with some clear or paintable caulk.. your set for main days for swinging fun...

remember spread the weight out over as much distants as you can.. this will keep you from damaging the house or wall as time goes on.

I really don't see any problem with doing that. Just make sure you don't have any wiring where you going to drill. Good luck
