It is very possible for the brain to be damaged, and so take damage to one's intelligence. For instance, drugs and excessive alcohol.

Or conditions such as stroke or Alzhiemer's disease.

Personally, I've seen a lot of people say and do dumb things while thinking that they're being cute- even though they are capable of being a whole lot smarter than that. In my mind, that is worse than actually having a low intellect.

Yes , I see it all the time , and read about it more . I think being dumb is going to be the new trend . it's like it is becoming an epidemic , look how many people are medicated just to deal with everyday life .. people are getting dumber by the day , they even whine and cry more than a kid who gets no candy ..... it is pathetic
