Yes, Christians have killed people in the name of religion. But how about taking a look at the social structure and the prevailing beliefs of the times in which those people lived before you make generalizations about the Christians of this time and this cultural milieu?
Society and religion have both changed over the years. In the days of the Inquisition, culture was both dominated and determined by the existing religious structure. You could be imprisoned or executed for speaking out against Church doctrine.
It wasn't right, and it went against the Bible's teachings -- you are absolutely right about that. But times have changed, social attitudes have changed, and more importantly, we are not under the control of a single religious entity that has life-and-death control over society.
Today, no one has the approval of a church hierarcy to kill another person in the name of religion, God, or anyone else. Far from being corrupted, Christianity has come closer now to being what its Founder intended -- a peaceful and compassionate life spent in helping others.
So before you condemn a group of people for what has happened in the past or claim that their religion is 'corrupted,' try taking a look at things in historical perspective.

many human beings make the errors of believing the Bible says, “You shall not kill,” and seek for to be conscious this command to war. inspite of the undeniable fact that, the Bible certainly says, “You shall not homicide” (Exodus 20:13). The Hebrew be conscious actually ability “the intentional, premeditated killing of yet another guy or woman with malice.” God in many circumstances ordered the Israelites to bypass to war with different countries (a million Samuel 15:3; Joshua 4:13). God ordered the loss of life penalty for multiple crimes (Exodus 21:12; 21:15; 22:19; Leviticus 20:11). So, God isn't against killing in all circumstances, yet quite purely homicide. war is in no way a solid element, yet each and every now and then this is an important element. In a international crammed with sinful human beings (Romans 3:10-18), war is inevitable. each and every now and then the only thank you to maintain sinful human beings from doing super harm is by using going to war with them. war is a bad element! war is often the end results of sin (Romans 3:10-18). interior the previous testomony, God ordered the Israelites to: “Take vengeance on the Midianites for the Israelites” (Numbers 31:2). See additionally Deuteronomy 20:sixteen-17, “inspite of the undeniable fact that, interior the cities of the countries the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive something that breathes. thoroughly wreck them--the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites--because of the fact the LORD your God has commanded you.” Exodus 17:sixteen pronounces, “He suggested, "For hands have been lifted as much as the throne of the LORD. The LORD would be at war against the Amalekites from era to era." additionally, a million Samuel 15:18, “bypass and thoroughly wreck those wicked human beings, the Amalekites; make war on them until you have wiped them out.” So, needless to say God isn't against all war. Jesus is often in suited contract with the father (John 10:30), so we can not argue that war became into purely God’s will interior the previous testomony. God would not replace (Malachi 3:6; James a million:17).

I will not deny that people have killed in the name of God. Jews, Muslims, and Christians alike have killed for the same God. Other "faiths" have as well.
But, as you are making it something more, a contradiction. Many have been on this kick lately, but as many have already tried to tell you that the word used was murder and not kill. It should not be that hard a concept sense we and many other cultures have the same concept that to kill with intent is murder and to kill in war or for protection is different.
I know this will not make a difference to you as you already stated that no matter what we say you will not listen to us. So, please make sure you remember that when you say we Christians refuse to listen not matter what the evidence says.

You need to understand that the old and new testaments are different. The old, teaches about how it was when GOD spoke directly to the people. Unfortunately, they didn't listen then either. In the new testament, Jesus was sent here to show the people that the laws of GOD can be followed. True believers of GOD would never dare claim that people haven't killed in the name of GOD. We simply understand that those who do, are not true believers of GOD. Otherwise they wouldn't kill. There are no exceptions to the laws of GOD. Thank you and may GOD come soon to right the wrongs that have been done on this earth.

Almost all religions want us to better ourselves. It's humans that have messed it up. Under the guise of religion, they will take specific quotes out of context for use for their own power or to justify criminal acts such as killing and war, or torture. Greed also comes into it too. Jesus changed all the previous 10 commandments and combined them into 2. Love God and love your neighbour. If you love god you will take care of the world and universe he created for you and if you love your neighbour, you would not be able to kill him , steal from him, cheat on him, etc.
God and or religion can make us better people, but it is people who distort the religion.

Israel was commanded to fight the Idolaters.
God has the right as creator to bring judgment on those who sin against Him.
The Nations God commanded Israel to destroy (i.e. Amorite, Canaanites, Midianites) had enticed Israel to sin. God desired to put an end to Idolatry.
It is God's right to bring judgment on whom He desires, when He desires, through whom He desires, in the manner that He desires. Man simply does not have all of the knowledge required to judge God on this.
Christians are right to say they are not allowed to kill in the name of God. It was only for these wars. If you study the Bible you will see why God wanted these Nations to be killed.

The commandment is not "thou shalt not kill" but it is rather "thou shalt not murder" - it is quite a difference.
That being said, you'll find a fundamental shift between the doctrine of pre-new testament vs post-Christ. The progression from rule of law to faith and grace is central to Christianity.
The religion isn't corrupted, the people are. All people are.
