i have done some math wth my Bible, the time between Creation and Noah's sons being born is 1,556 years. and you say the Flood was at most 5000 years ago. so even if you factor in 500 years for Noah's sons to get married and let's say 100 years of the Flood itself, that's still only around 7000 years of existence, around 5000 BC. We know that people started farming in Europe at about that time. I just don't get it.

The story is all about language. G-d spoke and.... Adam names the animals, etc.

Perhaps it's not about the physical beginning of the planet or of life, but about a world-changing development in language use.

6000 years is about right for that.

In Genesis (I don't remember the chapter and verse) God says that mankind can't fathom one of His day's that His days are 1000's of years to us. Also the years in the Bible are not the same as our years. Methusala lived to be 700+ years old, maybe somewhere in the translation upon translation upon translation things got switched up somewhat.

Its gets better! Humans actually started developing written language before then. Yes, recorded history goes back further than that!

I'd say creation was around 4004 B.C. according to James Ussher's calculations. You say that we know farmings started around 5000 BC. How? Were any of us there? no, we assume things about the past, bc we weren't there. I assume things about it, too, but I have God's Word backing me up, and God was there. So, I believe God over man's interpretations.

Literalists? LMAO. They are so far gone there is no use asking them questions about their holy books.

Give them something they can handle.
