I have often wondered that myself. If a person has
been blind since birth then what can they dream about if they have never "seen" anything? I suspect
that their concept of objects are what their
fingers tell them. Add to that the sounds, smells,
and taste then they might have very different
dreams from us. I'm sure they must have dreams that
are based on emotional experiences as well. Yes,I
believe that the blind do dream but more intensely.

I have asked blind people about their dreams their dreams are mostly auditory. Sometimes their dreams picture the world by how they think it may look like. Despite the fact that their blind their brain still has the Occipital lobe which interprets vision so they are still able to imagine what vision looks like. Also their dreams are less visual and are more auditory consisting of abstract thoughts and imagined scenerios without the visuals or with their "Made Up Visuals"

If blind from birth, what would they see during dream state? If they've never seen a tree, what would it look like while they are dreaming? I would assume that your statement would be correct.

Everyone dreams during rapid eye movement, (R.E.M.) a deep phase of sleep that allows the brain to rest. Without that, we would all lose our ability to reason and think cohesively. In other words we would be insane.
