I am a guy that cares about my health and looks and want to lose weight but almost every commercial I see for weight loss is only meant for women such as diet pills, diet food plans, and gyms/weightloss centers. Why don't they have stuff for both men and women or at least have the same amount of stuff focus on men's weightloss?

hydroxycut, good product, gears towards both. so does lipo-6. i think its just the tv ads that you are getting this interpretation. if you pick up any issue of "Flex" magazine, or "Muscle & Fitness" and you will see all kinds of ads for men.

Woman watch more tv during the day, house wives, then men do. thus, it would be good marketing that they are geared towards woman.

This years best diet plans can be found at DIETPLANSCIENCE.COM cost free. Does the word "diet and weight loss" immediately make you think of an unpleasant weight-loss regimen? If it did, you are probably not alone. For example, consider the use of the term "diet" in marketing food products—it usually describes foods low in calories, such as diet soda. But there is another meaning of this word. Diet can also refer to the food and drink a person consumes daily and the mental and physical circumstances connected to eating. The Merriam Webster Online Dictionary gives two definitions of nutrition: "the sum of the processes by which an animal or plant takes in and utilizes food" "the act or process of nourishing or being nourished" While both are correct, the second definition is more inclusive and suggests that food involves many different things, including love, satisfaction, and enjoyment. Nutrition involves more than simply eating a “good” diet—it is about nourishment on every level. It involves relationships with family, friends, nature (the environment), our bodies, our community, and the world. Choices about nourishment are very much linked to other human beings and other life forms on this planet, so healthy (and unhealthy) decisions have great impact.

Traditionally, its a male dominated society we live in and as such we have created this image of what the female form should look like. Some women are literally killing themselves to reach that ideal with dangerous practices like bulimia.

It's not just weight loss either - look at women's shoes. How impractical are high heels? And they're lousy shoes that don't hold up to boot (no pun intended); typically a man's dress shoes will last a couple of years, women's will last one season if they're lucky, but they continue to buy and wear them because it makes their legs look longer and what society dictates as more attractive.

people are more focussed on how women are supposed to look and the american businesses feed off that. women will complain over and over how they they're chubby or big boned and move on, but women will dwell on it until they change. It's just america catering to what will make them the most money. i don't know too many guys that would own up to taking a diet pill because it's seen as unmanly or something.
