Any contraceptives which are controlled by the user day-to-day, including birth control pills, the ring, and the patch, need not always be used according to the standard cycle/calendar. Their use can be rescheduled by skipping the placebos and altered in various ways to postpone or skip periods when desired. check with your doctor.
If you are not on the Pill. Norethisterone tablets can be prescribed. The dose is 5mg three times a day starting 3-4 days before a period is due. It can be continued for up to 2 weeks or so until you want to have a period. The period will normally begin 2-3 days after stopping it. Norethisterone is normally safe to take. Some women have side effects such as bloating, stomach upset, breast discomfort and reduced libido (sex drive).

Of course you can. Are you on the Pill? You probably are (I hope so) and if you are, get your next month of pills and DO NOT take the sugar pills (placebo) or skip 7 days for your "period week."
I take the pills that give you 3 periods a year. How do they do it? You just don't get "period pills" (the inactive ones) except once every 4 months. Simple.
However, realise that if your body hasn't acclimated to the new system, you may have some break-through bleeding. You *should* still be covered by your regular pill-taking. I normally do not have break-through bleeding but it has happened a couple of times in those few months.

Yes, but you have to actually wait to it shows the first tinges - then douche and it'll stop, but only for a day. OR, you can wait right up until you are going to have intercourse and douche (as long as your flow isn't heavy) and keep it at bay - at least for that night. The third and could be painful way is to use a smaller tampon than you'd usually use and still have sex with it in (I've done this and it was ok). Make sure you tell him it's in there so he doesn't push in too hard or deep. However, if he's of the type who won't go near there at all when you are on, then don't tell him and just take the pain. Good luck.

ya I think you can postpone your period Only if you take the pill. Something like skip the colored 5 or 7 pills ( not sure the amount) and go on to the regular ones.. I know lots of girls who have done this.. It does work.

If you are taking the pill, you can skip the placebos (the last week's worth) and simply start a new pack at the beginning. This might postpone it a few days.

Are you currently taking birth control pills? It is safe to skip over the placebo pills and begin taking the active ones again. This will prevent your period from coming.
If your not on bcp's, then unfortunately no. There is nothing you can do to postpone it.

there is an injection you can get from your doctor but he might not reccomend it, some dont. Alternativly, if you're on the Pill where you take it for 3 weeks then stop for a week (your period week), you could continue on the next pack, you wont have a period until you reach the end of that next pack, but you may (possibly) have some side effects of that, like spotting.

Are you taking birth control pills? Instead of taking the inactive ones so your period will start, just start a new pack. And as always, check with your health care provider!!

With bc pills you can not take the last week and start a new pack so that you don't start but since you are going to be starting in a few days call your obgyn and ask her.

I forgot their name, but the pills that stop women from being pregnant are excellent.
buy them today and start taking them. Once the b/f is gone stop using them and your period will start within 1 or 2 days.
ah, birth control pills.
