I always make it in the crock pot and it's ok. Saturday I went to A St. Paddy's day parade and my friend boiled it in a pot and it was out of this world. I'll do that Saturday. Just follow the directions on the package. Buy the one with Peppercorns included if you can.

I do the old way to cook my cabbage, I fry it down.I fry it then add a small chopped onion and a can of corn beef crumbled in there.To fry only put a very small amount of olive oil on the bottom of the pot(big enough to hold the amount of cabbage you want)fry a little put lid on to fry down,then stir and fry more til all is cooked down,then add the other ingredients.You may need a little water, but not always.

I just made a pot yesterday. cut up your cabbage in nice bite size pieces set aside. simmer your corned beef on low for acouple of hours. take the meat out and slice against the grain, add cabbage and meat back to the cooking liquid and simmer about 1/2 hour or untill the cabbage is tender. i also stuck afew potatos on top in same pot when those are fork tender you should be ready for a throwdown!!!!

Night before but meat, an onion, and seasoning in the crock pot to cook; next morning add cabbage and new potatoes - This way you can enjoy the festivities with out standing over the stove

CROCKPOT! Throw everything in there potatos, carrots, cabbage and corned beef and some water- voila! Set it and forget it.

In a crock pot, or if you plan on feeding many then in a roast pan on the slow cook setting. I also add red potatoes unpeeled, try for a uniform size. Then add the spices you like.
