The spirit of man is the essence of his existence. Just as the spirit of Martin Luther King stays with the people who adored him for his works and dedication to his fellow African-American, Just as the spirit of Mother Teresa stays in the memory of those she served and loved. The soul is the breath we exhale and inhale that goes back to the air as part of the continuing cycle of life because God is our life.

Although people have many different beliefs about death, the soul, and the spirit, here is what the word of God says:
The condition of the dead:
Ec 9:5 but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten
You ARE a living soul:
Ge 2:7 And God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul.
Souls can die:
Ezc 18:4 ...The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.
Your active force and attributes go back to God.
Ec 12:7 Then the dust returns to the earth just as it happened to be and the spirit itself returns to the [true] God who gave it.

The spirit is lifted up and out of the body and finds itself in a new sense of conscientiousness. It is the conscientiousness that is harbored in the human brain that departs the body.
It is much like walking through a doorway and finding ones self in a new room where everything feels different, yet safe and comfortable.
A quick non-judgmental review of your life happens and the spirit can feel the feelings of those they have made either a negative impact or a positive impact upon.
The knowledge and overpowering sense of God conscientiousness elopes the spirit. Others are there to guide you in your new live. A new sense of love becomes evident. The beauty of forgiveness is found. You have been reborn.
There is nothing to fear. This is a welcoming event.

No one knows the answer to this better than the LDS people. But the soul goes to the world of spirits where they are either punished for hurting others, or they are further taught the truths of God, or they teach the truths of God to the other departed spirits.
This is what Christ did when he died. He taught others. 1 Peter 3:18-20

I fee like our spirits do live on. Our soul needs a host, so it chooses our bodies to live in, and then when the body dies, the spirit maybe finds another host(human, animal) or maybe lives on up in heaven or down in hell.
I haven't quite got it figured out. But really, we won't know for sure, until it happens. So, I'm not too concerned about it.

because you seemt o be a wondering individual consider over some scriptures.Genesis 2:7 " And Jehovah God proceeded to form guy out of dirt, from the floor and to blow into his nostrils the breath of existence, and the guy got here to be a living soul." So earlier God breathed existence into the guy does the bible as a outcome practice that guy replaced right into a soul? Ezekeil: 18:4 God says " each of the souls to Me they belong. because the soul of the daddy , so likewise the sould of the son- To me they belong. The soul it truly is sinning it itself will die. Romans 5:12 " As by one guy sin entered into the international and absence of life by sin- as a outcome lack of life spread to all adult men for they have all sinned". Ecclesiates 9:5,6,10 " For the living are unsleeping that they are going to die yet as for the useless they're conscious of no longer some thing in any respect, also thier love and thier hate and thier jealousy have perished, All that your palms discover to do , do including your very potential for there is not any artwork, nor devising, nor information in Sheol the position to that you're going." ( sheol: the straightforward grave) yet! God's kingdom below Jesus rule will carry the useless to existence upon a paradise earth information got here across at Revelation 21: 3 and four " and look the tent of God will be with mankind and he will stay with them and they are going to be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out each tear from thier eyes and absence of life will be no more beneficial, neither will mourning nor outcry norpain be anymore." Jesus suggested he may ressurect the useless back to existence John 5:28, 29 " do no longer ask your self at this for the hour is coming at the same time as all those in thier memorial tombs will listen his voice and are available out

The spirit refers to the life source or breath of a person.
You can liken the spirit to electricity. When you unplug the coffee machine and no electricity can get to it, does it work? No, you have to plug it back into the socket for it to work.
Same with humans. The soul is the body and the spirit is the breath or life source. Once we die, the breath goes out, and in that day our thoughts do perish. (Ecclesiastes 9:5,10)
And read Psalms 146:4
Hope this helped.

I think it depends on what your belief is. Some people believe that when you die you come back as something else. And other's believe that your soul/ spirit goes to heaven.

although many people dont want to accept the fact that there is a hell...there is one but there is also a heaven. God gave us free will here on earth so we may make a choice to live according to his law and go to heaven or to live with the world and go to hell.
the Bible says that we will have a new body and we will live eternally with our father in heaven where he has made many mansions. but if we choose to live wrong our souls go to hell for eternity.
