I am giving you the same answer I gave the last 10 people who asked this question:
Against the draft, the one thing that makes our military so great is the fact that everyone that has joined did so without being forced to. We all want to be there and did not have to worry about the guy that got drafted watching your back because all he could think about was how to get kick out so he could go home.
not saying all people that got draft in the pass were this way some stayed in 20+ year and were great leaders and soldiers
but in the end if you want to join then you will do a better job then someone who was forced to join
I do believe that it is every ones responsibility to serve their country but it has to be a choice that they make of their own free will.

First of all the military is not meeting the numbers they are needing. That is why they have the incentives and are getting people's names from colleges and the like. Second the draft if not kosher, however take all the twerps that like to shoot at people here in the US and teach how to actually shoot send their butts to the middle east. They will find that getting shot at is not fun, but they may in the long run have a better chance at a future when they are done with the military.

Not just yet, we are keeping up with recruitement and have enough troops. Its better when its a volunteer army because people want to be there fighting, as opposed to being forced. However if we get into it with Iran or anyone else than yah basicly we need a draft. The draft would be verry different this time around, ive heard the plans for it and its a much more organized system than used in Nam.

I am against the draft. The draft should only be used if we are being invaded or the situation calls for it. In our current situation the draft is not needed.
What is needed is for politicians to get the hell out of the way, stop trying to micro manage a war and let the guys with gun kill the bad guys. The bad guys do not need to be arrested and put on trial. They do not need counseling to see the error of their ways, they need a member of the US military to provide them the opportunity to meet Allah, preferably with a bullet coated in pig's blood.

Against it, but there's no need to worry about one. And I'm a 25 year old male with no criminal record or physical complications, so I'd be among the group first to have their numbers pulled up. I'm not worried about it and neither should anyone else.
EDIT: Hoody, I think there's something you don't know about the WWII draft. That draft wasn't to decide who has to go to war. There were so many young men enlisting in the military to fight that they needed to put a draft to decide who got to go fight and who had to stay home and keep the country going. It doesn't do a war any good to have people fighting in it who don't believe in the cause.

Against the draft......and so is the USA people. I was drafted in the 60s and it was not fun. Only the poor people went into the military ( Due to draft )...Rich people paid to stay out by way of college.

I'd support a military draft for two reasons
1. Military volunteer armed forces strength was unable to decide long term conflict that was not proven to be illegal.
2. Every unmarried man and woman between 20 and 30
who did not prove exemption for physical disability and/or religious reasons was by law obliged to serve four years minimum or wartime duration in the armed forces.

Against. Why have a draft, we are meeting the numbers with volunteers. We will call a draft when we really need one. Those that think a draft will make up for their kids rotten upbringing need to find another way to make adults out of their kids.

As a female military member I belive that both men and women should have to serve in the Military. Right now we are not meeting out recurting needs. Serving in the military gives a sense of pride in your country. I can say from my personal experience that before the Army I didn't care about the military. Now I know what the servicemembers go though. they have raised thier hand and sworn to serve and protect this country on thier own free will. That's more than most in this country can say.

i am against drafting people to join a war, but i must say that i am for mandatory military service like in such places as Isreal. Once a person leaves school, they perform 2 years of service to thier country.
