About 22 years ago I met a lady in the place I worked. She had met her son for lunch and was walking back to her car when she heard a voice and it told her something. Immediately she got her bible out of her car and walked into my place of employment. I was paged to the front. She had asked (by first name only) to speak with me. My name is not unique, but it is one that you wouldn't guess on your first attempt. When I walked up she asked "Are you (insert name)?" and I said "Yes". She said ... "I know you are going to think I'm strange but (She told me about lunch with her son and returning to her car when ...) a voice just told me to come in here and ask for you. It also said you were in danger." I of course thought she was crazy; but when someone says you are in danger, it might be good to listen.
She said "Where ever you plan on going tonight; you are not supposed to go." I said OK and just wanted to get rid of her now that I knew what she had to say. She asked if she could say a quick prayer before she left and I said that would be fine. What she said touched my heart because it proved to me that this woman wasn't kidding. We said goodbye and I never saw her again. I thought about what she said for at least 5 hours and the more I thought about it; the more I worried. Then at 7:00 my buddies pulled up and I walked over to the car. I was actually off work; but I lied and told them I'd been asked to stay late and if I don't I might get fired. They left and I was returning to the store to call my sister for a ride. That's when I heard it. A sound like a car being dropped from the top floor of the Empire State Building. My 3 friends had pulled out in front of an 18 wheeler and all 3 died instantly as it literally flattened the car.
I didn't leave my house for 3 weeks after that because of how shaken up I was and how guilty I felt. Then I realized I had been given a gift; and the gift was ... My life. I had no way of knowing what might happen to them and had to accept the fact that I couldn't have changed the outcome.

Atheism isn't a denial of God's existence, it's a lack of belief. Some atheists claim that God doesn't exist, but that's not my stance. Most people call this "agnosticism", when in fact agnosticism generally says more. It claims that God is unknowable or at least unknown now. Its roots, if I'm not mistaken, have to do with people who claimed to know God personally, and then there were others who claimed they didn't -- even though they may have still *believed*. The most common modern distinction I see is that atheism speaks to belief, and agnosticism speaks to knowledge. Hence they are not mutually exclusive. Sorry to belabor the point, but it's important to realize that atheism doesn't imply that someone denies God's existence. The most well-known atheists will readily admit that you can't disprove a negative. I can't prove that invisible unicorns don't exist, for example.

I asked God for a Nintendo When I was 10 years of age but he did not give it to me. Instead he blessed me with so much more then a Nintendo a few years latter. I now had a computer, all the video games and more money then I could imagine at age 20. God has a way of speaking to you by giving you what you want but now when you want it. So as I waned money all the time my father passes away and the insurance money was large. It shows to prove that God does listen and speaks to you in ways you can't imagine. It is like explaining the concept of the Internet to a 2 year old diddler. Maybe we should be carful in questioning him to much. Good luck on your search !

When I was very young I ran a dangerously high fever. I kept drifting off into a VERY comfortable sleep but this kindly gentleman took me by the hand and told me I must go back to where the pain was. I remember I didn't want to go...but he insisted. As I got closer to my bedroom the pain increased. He told me that everything would be OK. Was that God, Jesus, a deceased relative, or just my imagination? I won't know until I die.

you can't have "direct evidence" when it comes to God, thats what makes him, him. He doesn't have to prove that he is here just to give satisfaction, true christians don't need evidence anyways, we just feel it in our hearts and somehow we can just tell that he is there... Compare to the wind, no body can see the wind... we can feel it (like we feel God's presence) and we can hear it ( like we hear God's calling for us) But just because we can't see it or can't put it in a jar and do medical tests on it doesn't mean that its not there.

Can you give direct evidence that this is not all just part of my dream?
If you doubt too severely your own experience (which are only feelings) - then you can't have faith in reality at all.

God doesn't speak to humans directly in this day and age, but "speaks" to them through his word the Bible and by helping them with his holy spirit. People who think they actually hear god talking to them might be hearing voices from another source.

Yes, He speaks to me all the time. I hear HIs voice. I am not a fanatic...you will accuse me of this, but this is why I know there is a God, and why silly arguments against Him mean very little to me. He will talk to anyone who really listens.

There is no real way to prove it one way or another. Can someone disprove that God has not spoken to you? No they cannot, but you cannot prove it either.
I guess it just pertains to the faith that a person has, the source where it came from, etc.
