If you were to presume yourself to be healthy - then made a appointment with your physician for a check up, and were told after the usual battery of tests were given - That YOU had a terminal illness, gone so far . . the the prognosis has the great probability of ending in death.
After the shock of such news - what would you constructively do, in the time that you had remaining.
Remember I said " CONSTRUCTIVE, not Destructive means towards preparing for your life's ending.
Also, the time allotted toward your demise was ONLY 5 to 8 months . . at most a year . . No MORE!
Would sincerely appreciate replies!

Well I hope you asking this hypothetical and it is not you! I honestly don't know what I would do, I would be in shock then it would hit me what am I gonna do I have a 7 year old I would spend all my time with her and my husband and probably try to prepare them I think that would be my top priority is to prepare them and make sure they were gonna be alright. I would make sure all legal stuff was in order for them. Then in between pitty for myself I would try to give them the best memories of me as possible. Thanks for asking this I have been taking them for granted lately but tonight I need to hug them both and let them know how much I love them.

I'd go the one place I've always dreamed of going. Or, if I couldn't afford that, I'd go somewhere with the most important person in my life, somewhere relatively close, but inexpensive. So we could spend a lot of time together, trying new things, making good memories.

If I had someone who could take care of it after my death, I'd get a pet (if I didn't already have one). Then I'd spend time enjoying the time I had with an animal companion.

I'd read the book I've been putting off reading, and fret a little less about dirt on the floor.

I'd try new foods/recipes.

I'd spend time in a hospital, school, church, etc talking to people in similar situations, or telling them about my experience.

I'd do the one thing that scares me most.

I'd do something completly out of my character, like bungee jumping or living alone.

And, I'd eat all the chocolate I wanted :)

In reality, I'd have to go through the stages of anticipatory grieving. I can't say that I'd be able to complete them but even if I were unable to, I'd do my best to validate my life and give it closure. As to what specific things I'd do to achieve this, I couldn't say unless it happened to me but I know for a fact that when I die I wish to have no regrets.

I have been through this with patients and have assisted them with coping. I would hope that I would receive the same.

If i was told that i was dying I'd want to travel the world in my last months. I'm only 21 and it's something I've always wanted to do. I'd arrange my affairs say my good-byes and just take off. Live my dream before dying!

That happened to one of my family members, he went out and visited all the family members that he had never had money for, and did the rest of the stuff he never had money for... like travel to Rome and England... donated his house, and after he lived life to its fullest and maxed out his credit cards and was more than officially broke lived 5 more years, but never regretted a moment of it!
