A lot of research has been done on the subject of sleep deprivation, and almost all of it points to the correlation between lack of proper sleep and health issues, as well as cognitive degradation and physical performance.

While the amount of sleep people need varies from person to person, a consistent lack of the sleep you need can at minimum reduce capabilities, and worst case cause substantial health problems over time. So it's not recommended to consistently go without decent sleep.

A friend of mine stayed awake for 3 days straight on a dare in high school. By the second day he was hallucinating in class. Sleep deprivation has serious side effects if you are only getting 3 hours of sleep a night there is a problem you need at least six hours of sleep to stay healthy eight hours is the best.
Be careful especially if you are driving after that little amount of sleep you could end up hurting someone.

I believe that having 6 hours of sleep everyday is the minimum required for a good health. Often due to overtime at work or exams pressure, many people sleep about 3 to 4 hours. In the short run this may be bearable however in the long run it may be detrimental to your health. Though we may try to go back to a normal lifestyle afterwards with reasonable hours of sleep, the signs of tirenedness may still persist. So one advise sleep well!

The body is a simple machine. It wants what it wants and lets you know when it wants it. I would not go more than 2 days on a low sleep schedule. Sleep is a requirement to keep your system healthy. Sleep also has a lot to do with weight gain. Getting enough sleep and eating breakfast really does help to keep off the pounds. You don't want to mess with your body. It's a domino effect if you do mess around. It screws with your metabolism. You don't want that.

less sleep = bad. you can go with about only 2 or 3 hours of sleep per day if your used to it and can handle it but sleeping more improves motor function and coordination and physical development. sleep as much as you can. a person should be a ble to go without sleep at least for three or four days to say the least.
