It sounds as if you slept on it or bumped it. You'll just need to baby it for a week or so, and it should feel better.
Don't put any alcohol, bactine, peroxide or whatever else these people have suggested on it. All of that will just irritate it and make things worse.
Do sea salt soaks and try to sleep on your other side. don't put the industrial bar in again untill it's settled down. These types of piercings act up a lot, they take a long time to heal fully (although yours should be healed if it's a year old) but the smallest things can irritate them. Try not to touch it.
Is the labret post new jewelry or have you been wearing it for a while? If it's new, consider that you may be having a reaction to the jewerly.

Even healed piercings can act up from time to time and cartilage is just a pain. Chances are you did something, even the slightest thing and its causing discomfort. I don't think you should wear a labret stud in your piercing, I would be a better fitting straight or curved barbell (I foresee the disk on the stud causing issues).
Most likely the area is just a little irritated and sore, nothing more. I suggest a change of jewelry (even perhaps a temporary down gauge) and I would take Tylenol or Mortin for the pain and I would do a salt soak in the morning to soothe the area. Try not to sleep on the area or apply unnecessary pressure.
You'll just have to give the area time and you should be fine in a few days. IF for some reason your ear swells greatly, turns red, feels heated to the touch or you notice blood (dried or fresh) I would visit a piercer to see what they have to say (since they can see the area, I cannot). Good luck.

I have had my industrial done for about 6 months now and it didn't hurt for a while then it would get sore but then it would go away it just all depends on if you sleep on that side or hold your head up on that side.I kept the long bar in tho just because of personal opinion but you might want to put the bar back in and see if that makes any differerence. I hope this helps you out good luck!!

I had the same problem when i got the top of my ear peirced too... even though it has been a year since you got the peircing, that particular peircing takes the longest to heal. Number one being that it is on the top part of your ear where there is very tuff cartlidge. Also when you sleep on it that ultimately makes it heal longer. I had to take mine out b/c some days it would be healing fine then the next it would hurt like heck esp. when i layed on my ear.

Wow, that sounds crappy! Loss of sleep is bad in itself! I would most definetly not try putting in new jewelry unless your experienced.(thats better lefed for a piercer to do, for they have tools to help put it in with the least irritation.) I would steer clear of peroxiide + alcohol because they both tend to dry and irrittate. You have that going on anyway. Try "old faithful" A + D ointment. See a doc if all this fails! Good luck!!
(Don't Wit to long! Possible infection! Couldn't tell without seeing you!)

peroxide, alcohol, and bactine = badbadbad for a piercing. they all say "not for use on puncture wounds" because they dry the heck out of it. and, incase you didn't know, a piercing is a puncture wound. :P
wash it using dial soap, like you should have when it was new. and do some sea salt soaks, (1/4 teaspoon to 1 cup [8 oz] water) go to http://boards.tribalectic.com/NewInstall/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/3/1590.html for more on the sea salt soaks
basically, treat the piercing like it's new. don't change the jewlery again. don't touch it. dont mess with it. careful that hair products dont get in it... baby it. :)

I'm sure it's nothing. You may have developed a sensitivity to the particular metal your jewelry's made of (hey, it happens). Or you may have bothered it somehow - injury, sleeping funny, soap/shampoo residue stuck in the piercing, and developed a slight infection. Go back to the rules of treatment from when you first got pierced. Contacting your piercer is always good advice.
Peace & love.

Any number of things could've caused this flare up. The most common are hair or hair products, unclean pillowcases, and sleeping on it wrong. Just go back to doing sea salt soaks about once a day and it should calm down a bit. Even after a year or so, my orbital would flare up about once every six months or so regardless of how careful I was.

I had a similar problem with my nose, it just would not heal. So, I started cleaning it with a Q-tip that I dipped in peroxide, then put bacitration ointment on it. I did this a couple times a day and after a week it was healed!

NO! DO NOT use hydrogine peroxide like that one told you! use Bactine (the first aide wash in the white bottle with a green cap and red label)!
I use this on ALL my piercings and have never ever had an infection!
