I work at an eating disorder clinic & so am very familiar with BMI (Body Mass index) along with other methods of measuring obesity as well as undernutrition.

And in my professional opinion, you are not anywhere near fat. 162 lbs is easily in the average range for your height given any medical conditions that we may not know of (for instance if you have allergies some antihistamines can contribute to weight gain or retention meaning it's a little harder to lose the weight you do have).

However my concern is in why did you feel the need to ask? Is there someone who is implying that you are fat? Are you not happy with your size for some reason? Please remember that our society is often very critical & has weird images of women that may sometimes make you feel that you are chunky but those images are not real. You are real & most females your height weigh the same as you if not a little more... and you are not fat.

No, you're not overweight. You're still in the proper BMI range for your height (I'm about the same height.) Are you busty or big boned? That could matter a little. I weight about 140, but I've gone up to 150 just fine. I'm not big boned, and I'm pretty flat, so if I was around 160, I would probably be careful to not gain anymore for health reasons.

When it comes down to it, you're a tall woman, so you're going to weigh more than the average girl. I do. I could never fit into a size 4 or 2. I doubt even a 6 would work, but I still have PLENTY of good-looking, outgoing guys who find me attractive! You have to carry yourself well, no matter your build.

I think you could stand to lose about 10 lbs, becaue I used to be 162 and I'm 5'4 and I lost 30 lbs, so ten pounds should make it so you won't even have to ask this question again.

You sound like me I'm always asking ppl if I look fat and I'm 5'4 and 118lbs. So I just started walking about 30 min. everyday to slim down and it worked!
