Eastern religions were old and established long before Abraham ever existed. Any relationship to new age is just like all religions which essentially borrowed all their concepts
from the east and so it goes on now.

In some ways, I do. Eastern religions like Hinduism or Buddhism have been around alot longer than anything int he new age. They were established long before that. However, I do associate them in a way because there are some Eastern beliefs that people take into their new age beliefs. Some people who call their beliefs new age practice yoga; however, that certainly isn't new age at all. There are others who follow the idea of reincarnation. That can be found in many Eastern religions.

The eastern religions make more sense to me. Much has been adopted into the new age, but I don't associate eastern religions with new age.

Isn't the Levant considered part of the Orient? That is, aren't even Judaism and Christianity considered eastern? When I think new age I mostly think "recycled". Witness the resurgence of interest in the Kabbalah. Hinduism was around before Buddhism and many of the notions of Hinduism just got recycled (reincarnated) into Buddhism and Yoga - voila, 2500 year old new age religion.

Eastern religions are associated with symbols of man. They worship animals, the earth, the sun, the stars the moon, idols, and men in high power.
As far as them being associated with new age, its the other way around, new age is associated with them.

No, I don't.
I'm Buddhist; my sect tracks back over a thousand years. My teacher's family has run temples for over 600 years. There's nothing "new age" about my practice.

They are eastern.
Should stay there as far as I'm concerned.
They are very old religions.
The new age religions have been here from way back.
They just come now with a new name. Change the wording a little and there you have it, the same old thing in a new package.
