Die Hard Meaning

I used this sentence the other day -- my new boss told me not to do something that I did only because my old boss wanted me to do it (not because it made sense). I responded "old habits die hard" -- meaning, that once you get used to do something, it's hard to stop doing it.

It's 'old habits die hard' (not 'feelings'). It just means it's hard to change the habits of a lifetime.

its evident-they die HARD. Is it easy to break a habit? Takes the same about of HARD to create a habit as it is to break one.

Don't try to understand too deeplly--just look at it and say, yeah, it's hard to break a habit, especially one I've had for a long time.

It means .....if you have a habit of doing something on a regular basis.......like , if you're used to having a cigarette after eating supper..........then it will be a hait that is hard to break......such as , if a doctor tells you that you must stop smoking

It means when you are used to doing something for long, it is difficult for you to stop doing it. The short poem below from F. Outlaw explains it all:

"Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny. "
--Frank Outlaw
