Your cal may not be as popular as it was back in the 1800's, but it's far from dead. You'll find ammo for your weapon for a few decades to come, I'd reckon. Beyond that, handload parts are *easy* to find.

Hi point pistols have a terrible reputation, the problems always center around feeding issues, if you check the angle on the end of the magazine where the rounds feed out , most of the time it is way to acute or small to let the round feed properly, also the feed ramp will need a good polish or refinishing I guarantee it! I own a Cobra Enterprises Freedom .380 it is a real piece , but it was a gift so I take it to the range for fun, it is literally the same pistol, same problem, I had both the magazine and feed ramp issues, after I had it worked on it has given me no more problems! Hi-points and Cobras both cost $160 brand new so , they are unrivaled in cheapness and crapiness, if you want a cheap gun that actually works buy Kel Tec, for $275 out the door, it is the best cheap pistol you can buy. Hi-points and Cobras have no locking breech so , the sheer weight of the slide and the springs keep the breech shut , they are by far the most Unreliable weapons on the market, the resale value is about $50 so try to get it to work, but if you can not, just sell the piece of S** and buy the KelTec p11 or pf 9, they will not disappoint you!

Try Auction Arms or Gun Broker, ... links below. Do a search in ammunition category for 32-40. There's some for sale, ... old stuff (expensive) or reloaded ammo (cheaper). You can also find many places that sell the brass and dies so that you can reload your own. Just do a Google search with keywords like: Reload 32-40 ammo. Good Luck!!!!

Go on-line and do a search for the Old Western Scrounger. They handle a lot of old ammo that you can'tr find anywhere else. I just checked and their website is www.ows-ammunition.com.
