Very boring...
It is a hurry up and wait type deal. If you are lucky, you will get to sit on a trial; although, that is not the norm. Bring a cushion in case though because those chairs hurt your butt...

There was a cartoon I saw when I was in Law School that explained it quite well.
This fellow was sitting in a jury box, and said "The lawyers are getting $200 per hour to argue. The judge gets $150,000 per year to listen. We get $10 per day to make all the hard decisions. If there's any justice here, it's escaped me."

It is the most boring thing I have ever gone through...Twice!
You sit in a room waiting to be called into one of the Courtrooms to be asked questions about the case and if you answer in any way that does not meet with the Prosecutor or Defense Attorney's approval, you are excused and you must go back to the sitting room again to wait and be called again.
Bring something to entertain yourself or you will feel like the day will never end.

Worst experience of my life. Once a woman starts to cry on the stand, the trial is over. Emotions overcome facts.
I will do anything I can in order never to let a jury decide my fate.

Jury duty is exciting because you will witness the intricacies of the court procedure as it tackles the allegations presented by the opposing parties.

Its really no big deal. There is not real "standard experience"...but basically, you go into a room and they either ask you questions or have you fill out a questionaire. Then you wait.
If you are choosen, you have to come back and serve on a case, otherwise, you are excused.
There's not much to it--all you have to do is answer questions honestly (and bring a pen to fill out the questionaires)--- so dont worry about it--its no big deal.

It's a long day - bring a book. I was chosen once and had to spend a few weeks in on a trial. It's quite an experience.

It's like sitting in the doctor's office for a whole day. If you get selected, it's like sitting in the dentist office for a whole day. If you're lucky, they call ut the first 40 names and you get to go home. Expect a check the next day. I always cashed that check at the liquor store.

I served two times. It can be time consuming but it is not too bad. I learned a lot in both cases.
