Please dont breed cats, if you dont know the genetics of the animals in question. Just saying that to cover the basics.
Here we go, Munchkins are a genetic mutation. They are a result of a mutant gene allowed to breed back to family members in order to propigate the mutation. Siamese are a breed that has been honed and perfected over generations and have a wide gene pool. Siamese do not carry the gene mutation for Short legs. Rule of thumb is kittens get 2 sets of genetic materials from either parent. If the one parent is a short legged Pure Munchkin and the other is a Pure Siamese cat, then you get one half from one and the other half from the other. Generally speaking, If you bred a regular Short legged Munchkin cat to a Siamese you will have Normal long legged Siamese X Munchkin kittens some with possible color points, and some of these kittens, you wont know who, will be a carrier (they will have long legs but carry in there genetic code the gene for short) of the Short legged gene Mutation. If you were to breed the kittens of this cross with a normal long legged Munchkin that carries a short leg gene, you can get SOME Munchkin kittens. Some of these kittens MAY or may not have the Siamese Color points. In Munchkin breeding today, you have to breed a Short leg Munchkin with a Long Leg Munchkin, why? because with the gene for short legs comes a lethal gene, when breeding 2 short leg carriers it can cause all or most of the kittens to die before or shortly after birth. Also with this short leg gene is a mutation of the heart, and spine malformations. Enlarged, weak hearts, that are not noticable till the cat is older, weak and missing vertibre in the spine are also carried. This is why Munchkins are not a very good cat to own at this time they havent perfected or fixed this problem yet. Munchkins came from a very TINY gene pool. Some were found on a farm and because they were allowed to interbreed they have some bad health problems. Later They interbred them even more to get a larger population to work with. So therefore there genetic materials are severely compromised.
Siamese breeds are characterized by there small oriental build, and temperment, and are allowed only in COLORPOINT colors. Colorpoints are a distinct coat pattern and MANY breeds of cats can have a Colorpoint coat. So to cut all this down to size
you will get normal LONG legged mixed kittens with some short legged genes in there blood, all colors are possible including some colorpoint kittens.
WOW SETTLE DOWN BIG NELLY!!! I didnt say you were breeding cats, I am speaking to the GENERAL public since you asked on a public sight, I am merely doing my duty to educate public. I didnt direct it too you soley. I gave you the geneology information you requested and hope you use it to your benifit. Just calm down, you should have mention your WERE NOT going to breed the cats in the first post then us bleeding heart wouldnt have to mention it.

Most likely not, if you interested in genealogy you already know some traits are recessive and some are dominant. The short leg gene is recessive, so both parents would have to have it for it to be passed down to the offspring. And then even if they do, there is still a pretty good chance the gene won't be passed down to all the babies(if you look at official breeder sites, they always have some that have normal legs for sale because the gene didn't present its self in some of the kittens and that with BOTH parents being munchkins)

the munchkin breed has a genetic disorder that causes the short legs, there would be a chance that this gene could be passed down to some of the kittens but not necessary all of them. Siamese breeds tend to throw their color to their off springs, they may not have the bold coloring like the parent but similarly markings

I believe that there are already Munchkin cats available that have Siamese markings; as far as i know, Munchkins come in all colors and coat patterns.

Hi, I am not experienced with munchkins but raising and showing dogs for years I always found that puppies take conformation and colouring form both parents. Almost always I would have some that looked like mom and some that looked liked dad.

Please don't breed your cats, especially if you know nothing about genetics and plan to cross breed two very different breeds. There are SO many unwanted cats in the world, and many are euthanized every year.

If you were merely curious, then I apologize, but I do certainly hope you are not planning on breeding.
