but we have a right to be in bus lanes and we only have pedal power so you may want to be more considerate about this

You do not always "a right" to be in bus lanes. That is something you'll have to check at the sign when it starts.

The bus cannot leave its route so it's not always possible for it overtake a cyclist.

Incidentally (I'm sure this doesn't apply to you) a huge number of cyclists behave so badly on the road that they give the rest a bad name.

Nearly half seem to think that painted road markings, particularly "Give Way" lines and red traffic lights don't apply to them. There are also a very large number of cyclists who do not carry lights - especially in the morning - and an enormous number ride on the pavement then bump down onto the road without checking for traffic first.

Not all bus lanes are for cyclists. At the beginning of the bus lane there will be a sign saying who can use the bus lane. If cyclists and taxis are not mentioned, then you don't go in the bus lane.
There is a notorious one in Norwich between Anglia Square and Tombland. It is buses only. It is too narrow for bus and cyclist, a bus cannot overtake you without crossing into the oncoming traffic.
The number of times I've had to avoid cyclists wobbling up the bus lane. The cheeky beggars then come banging on your window swearing at you. No amount of explaining that they are in the wrong is met with more name calling.
I had one day, swearing at me, riding down the middle of the bus lane. That is when I stayed on his tail. The look of panic in his face was worth it, I ran him the whole lenght of the bus lane, his poor little legs were going like bees wings, the passengers were shouting encouragement and taking bets. Never seen him since. Wasn't you was it?...

Buses have a strong attraction to black Lycra,
Seriously 'minding your own business' means day dreaming in a bus lane. Why are you being so selfish.
