Yes, that's right. If you allow someone to control you, then you'll be controlled. If you allow someone to walk all over you, then you will have a lot of footprints on your back. But if you position yourself to be treated with respect, then you will be treated with respect. There are still mean people in the world though that will do bad things. You just have to recognize it and walk away from it immediately and not excuse their bad behavior.
