The problem with gravity is that we don't have A theory. I have half a dozen gravity theories in my database right now. All we have at the moment is a LAW of gravity. We have no idea why it works, we only know what it does.

Newton's ideas of Gravity have been proven false by Einstein in his General Relativity. Assuming that you're reffering to the current theory of gravity... people believe it because there is overwhelming evidence for it.

It's a theory because we don't know everything about it. They theory of gravity says more than "gravity exists." We know there is a force that keeps us on the ground, but we don't know EXACTLY where it comes from, and ENTIRELY how it works.

So we can believe in a force and call it "gravity." That's easy.

Well, are you sitting in your chair without floating away, or having to strap yourself in so you don't float away? Have you notices how rain falls down, it reaches the earth due to gravity. That being said, if you really want to test it, I'm sure you could find a nice high place to jump from. I'm sure you'll believe it then.

Gravity is quite a good description of a real phenomenon. The opposite is levity. Lightness and heaviness.

Even if he recanted it doesn't prove he was wrong. Or was that Darwin....

Anyway, show me evidence for gravity and I'll believe in it.

It's a Government Conspiracy! Just like the Earth being Round and Hobos.

Seriously. I agree with everyone telling you to jump off a buliding. The gene pool needs cleaning anyway.

Because there is a vast difference between actual theory and scientific theory.

Jump as high as you can. If you keep going up you can quit "believing" in gravity. If you come down, then accept its existence empirically. After all, you just proved it by coming back down.
