seems like no one has morals or a sense of honor any more. what happened to trying to be a good person? seems like everyone just cares about feeling good right now, not about doing good for others or doing good for their future. is there anyone out there that thinks the same way i do about this?

I do.You are right.Look at how many amoral people visit this section.It is one thing to debate a subject with honor,and quite another to mock anyone with morals,as so many people here do.

You've been hanging with the wrong crowd...
There are plenty of good people (I won't say "moral" because morality is a social idea that's constantly changing and is different from culture to culture). I meet kind, generous, unselfish, gentle people nearly every day. I also know lots of honorable people -- perhaps you should find some new friends to hang around with?
Oh, and by the way -- I wouldn't consider anyone who only acts "good" because some mythical creator supposedly tells them to or they're afraid of going to hell as either good OR honorable. Unless the motivation to do good comes from yourself, you aren't good...you're just putting on an act 'cause you think it will earn you some reward or prevent you from being punished.

Yes, I am shocked to see how many religious people are supportive of War, Torture, Lying, Revenge, Greed, and destruction of God's creation through pollution. You are perfectly correct that morality and honor are lacking in the US at this time, especially among the religious.
The only thing religious people seem to be focused on with regard to morality is personal sexual morality, and usually they only care about it when it comes to other people. It's ironic that those who claim to worship God care more about his symbols then his message.

Muslims have honor and a sense of moral. Our children aren't going outside and making babies like the rest of the world. But I agree that there seems to be no values instilled upon children anymore.
