We have been together for about a month and a half. I know he is REALLY into me wich is great cuz I am really into him too. To be honest, he is the best guy I have ever dated! :) Everything I would ever want in a man.
One thing that is confusing me though... Sometimes he tells me he loves me. But I don't know if it is an "I love you" or more of a "luv ya"... Last night when I dropped him off at his car when he was getting out he kissed me and said "love you baby", then today he sent me a text message and at the end of it he wrote "love you babe".
My question is do guys throw around the "L" word? Or when they say it do they really mean it?
I have not said it back to him because to be honest, I don't love him YET. I can tell I will, but I personally need more time. Is it rude not to say it back? Should I because I know I am heading down that path or keep my lip zipped for now?
Thanks :)

Everyone's definition of love is different. Also, guys tend to fall pretty fast from what I've noticed. Maybe he has the same feelings that you do but in his eyes it is "love." Maybe he is feeling more intense feelings maybe less. Either way, you know that he is into you and that is all that matters for now. Whether you say it back and when is up to you and only you. Don't force it, and he should be mature enough to understand. Otherwise, explain how you feel and then say it when you are ready.

If a guy tells u he loves u before u have been together for about 3 months..he is probably just saying that.

You should talk to him about it if you really want to know how he means it. Just ask him if he really loves you or if he just says it as an expression. Don't say it if you don't mean it yet! It's never good to throw that word around.

To me it sounds like one of those "luv ya" but i also believe that he is showin that he loves you by just sayin "luv ya". To some guys its hard to say those words first to a woman. And believe it or not he is having that inner battle with himself about how he feels about you. Because he knows what he said. He is thinking about it.

Some guys just come from very loving families. I met my guy in November, engaged in February and married in August. I was 20 he was 22. That was 30 years ago. Count your blessings and tell him how you feel.

I hope he's not saying it cause he thinks saying it will eventually get you to have sex with him.
---Give him the benefit of doubt. Maybe he's sayig it cause he truely loves you. There's no specific time to say 'i love you" . You don't have to say it if you haven't fallen in love with him yet. It's better to tell him you love him when you really mean it, than to say it because you feel obligated to do so.

I think it depends on the guy, some may say it before they actually mean it, but for the most part I don't think they throw it around so to speak.
I think you are smart to wait til you are sure...
Good Luck !!

its good that you don't say it if you don't mean it, then when or if you do it means something
if he is sayin' "babe" just leave him, he is old then, really 60, only sayin he's 23, watch out
keep everything zipped for now I think

if you don't love him yet, just say so, he needs to be mature enough to accept that when you're ready, you'll say it back, but if he loves you, then he loves you, i usually say it wheni mean it, takes about 6-7 months
