I know there is no heaven or hel, and I try to live my life well. I strongly believe in treating others how I would like to be treated myself. In other words, I show them respect when needed, compassion when required. I help others, without any demands placed upon them. If everyone believed the same as me, then I believe people would start helping each other more, because their wouldn't be a religious divide anymore.
Atheism. You know it makes sense.

Nobody can ever know for sure...
But the possibility of there being either heaven or hell (or any kind of afterlife) is so tiny as to be safely ignored. That's good enough for me.
And it wouldn't change anything in *my* life, since I alreadly live my life based on it being the only one I'll ever have.
I suspect that the people who fear death so badly that they invent mythical places in an afterlife, even if they knew there were no such places, would find some other way to try and "cheat death." You'd probably see a lot more of those cryogenic facilities, for example. It's the fear of death that drives belief in a non-existent afterlife...taking away the places they think they'll go won't take away the fear of dying.
Peace.

Well, I know for certain that there is no Heaven or Hell.
I live my life full of love and kindness and giving.
I am a person, and I can deduce that there are others that are people too, just like myself, all around me.
So, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, is a logical and obvious way to live. I did not get this from the BIBLE. I reasoned it, just as all atheists reason it.
It is not only the only fair and just and pleasant option, it is a foundation for law and morality.
To believe that life has meaning is the extent of my faith. It possibly may not have meaning. That is my bravery.
My love is pure human love, not filtered or prepossessed by some uber-deity or book.
I am formost, happy. Christians cannot fathom my existence, but it is truer, more real and far removed from delusion.

I have no idea what will happen after we die -- but the idea of heaven and hell is difficult for me to swallow, particularly hell. What kind of monster-god would create people knowing some of them would be required to suffer for all eternity? And what sin could possibly warrant that?
So -- knowing for certain would change nothing. I am not motivated to do good or bad by fear of punishment or hope for reward. I'm not a six year old.

These are rather extremes of continued life. That is the point...there is more in the universe than they portray. What about a level we can all attain to, judging ourselves with the good, the bad, the ugly of our lives? Heaven and Hell are merely a Christian construct for the control of people's minds.

In my case, since I am reasonably sure there are no such places, I think my life would be the same as it is now.
