Was Paul disobedient to Jesus command of "call no man father" when he said "For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel" (1 Cor. 4:14–15).

Isn't Paul encouraging the people of Corinth to call him "father"?

I guess you could look at it that way. And then that baits the question: "Is the word "father" banned by Jesus unless you are referring to God the Father?"

I think not! I'm sure that Paul wasn't even thinking about that. Just a hunch.

I'm not a follower of Paul. I follow Jesus.

Paul has written so many things that I can't believe Jesus would ever back with the weight of God.

It is said Paul either never met him or only met him for a brief period.

Paul's writings are the religion of Paul.

Paul talks like Pat Robertson.

You can't even sit at a table with a fornicator.

Jesus saved Mary Magdeline from stoning and she was an alleged fornicator.

I don't get Paul at all!

I follow Jesus, not Paul.

As far as I'm concerned Paul is the False Prophet.

I don't think so Paul told Jesus when he asked him to follow him that his family needed him basically and Jesus told him to not let his father be the reason because he would be a father to the fatherless and a mother to the motherless. He gave the same message to all of his disciples. He wanted them to lay their lives to the side so that they could follow Jesus wholeheartedly and not have all of the struggles of the world, family and etc. on them as they ministered and also as a unit of the body of christ we are all family together so for example if my friend becomes a christian she is now known as my sister in christ and maybe a older person of the church becomes my mentor than I would consider her a mother or a father

No. Paul was not using the term “father” as a title, but as an illustration. He was using the earthly relationship in the human family to show the true picture of his position relative to the Corinthian Christians. Nowhere is he addressed as Father Paul. Peter referred to him as “our beloved brother Paul”. (2 Pet. 3:15) None of the apostles were ever addressed with the title Father. For them to be so addressed by others would have violated Jesus’ command: “Do not call anyone your father on earth, for One is your Father, the heavenly One.” The context shows he was objecting to flattering titles. (Job 32:21, 22; Matt. 23:6-12) Hence Paul’s use of the illustration “father” to accurately portray his relationship to Christian congregations and individuals, and not as a creature-exalting title, was no violation of Matthew 23:9.

Paul is just referring to himself as a leader in the early church. Plus, Paul wasn't there when Jesus commanded that people "call no man father," Paul was still involved in Judaism.

There is no inconsistency involved in these two concepts.

Using the parent/child metaphor to communicate the mentor/learner relationship is not encouraging those in Corinth to refer to him as "father".

Only someone wanting to find contradictions would intentionally stretch to find one here.

Paul was the equivalent of a used car salesman. He was selling a product with no personal knowledge of the quality.

I think so, I believe Paul was jealous of Jesus and wanted to become Jesus.

Paul never met Jesus and was out running his mouth long before the Gospels were in print. He'd never read anything about anything Jesus said. He was going by word of mouth and his knowledge of Judaism.
