Eagle Rock, CA 90041, is on the northern tip of Santa Catalina Island.

Twenty-six miles across the sea, Santa Catalina is awaitin' for me." So goes the 1957 song by the Four Preps. Yes, the island of Catalina is located off the coast of Southern California near Los Angeles and to get there a traveler must cross the Pacific Ocean by passenger ferry, private boat or helicopter. There is no bridge or car ferry. Drivers must leave their cars on the mainland. Small, private planes may land at Catalina's Airport-in-the-Sky and private boats may rent a mooring, or drop anchor outside the mooring areas. Reservations on the cross-channel carriers are recommended. All passengers sixteen years or older must have photo identification, and baggage requires identification tags. Travelers should be sure to inquire about other guidelines for baggage, restrictions on bringing pets, and parking facilities and fees.
