It's on sale today for $1 a pound. Thought I would buy two or three pounds and freeze it. My instincts say to blanch it first and then freeze. Any advice?

Yes you can, and your right, you need to blanch it first, and make sure to dry well and place in bags in Freezer. Try to get as much of the air out as possible when sealing the bags. Frozen veggies are best if eaten within about 3 months, though after that is ok... they just lose much of their natural flavor.

Yes, and you are right to blanch for 3 to 5 minutes then drain and store in freezer containers or bags, make enough up to serve per person.
