This older guy that I work with(I've liked for 2+ years), flirts with me and then sometimes acts like he just wants to be friends. He holds doors open for me, stares at me stands close to me, etc. About 2 weeks ago, I told him my bday was coming up and he was trying to remember how old I was, he asked me if I was turning 24. I told him I was going to be 27. He said...."Oh well that's even better! " He winked at me and we said our goodbyes. Anyway, the next monday on my birthday he wished me a happy bday. I am really shy, but I asked him out for dinner and that it would make my day even better. He got all flustered and said he couldn't because the age difference is too large(17yrs). Now its like that never happened. Its like we're back to being friends. He still flirts, but I'm confused at what he wants. Should I not have asked him to dinner? Am I being too forward? HELP

did you make sure he was single?? maybe he had someone that he was seeing so that he was flustered when you asked him out. or that he is shy but refuse to give you that as an answer so he came up with some bs story about the age. He sounds like he is interested in you- so i am thinking there is more to the story. but keep acting cool and treat him the same way you've always treated him. If he does like you and is for sure single, he will come around- guys take forever to realize something right in front of them!!!

Well in pakistan...the guy might b already with someone else, or he doesnt find u very intresting or he see's that u like him and ur not playing hard to get, so i would advise you not to just fall right in and play it easy dont give urself to him so fast.

Maybe he is confused about his feelings. He probably likes you alot but because he is much older he may feel obligated to keep in a platonic relationship

no you are not being too forward you know what you want and your going for it. maybe he is shy too and doesn't know how to act around you.
