I love eating bagels for breakfast but when I buy a dozen the ones left for the end of the week are hard and taste horrible. How do I keep them fresh???

Put some in a plastic bag. That should help a lot.
Also, if you need to (but I doubt it), place a few in the refrigerator.

Paper bags allow air circulation which dries out bagels by the end of the week.

Freezing is the only way that you will keep them fresh for more than a day or two. Otherwise use the fridge. If you leave them out they will get rock hard. Don't forget to let them thaw out for a while before serving.

As soon as I buy them I slice and freeze the ones I know won't get eaten in the next 2 days. The night before I want to eat one I take it out and let it defrost over night. The next morning it is completly defrosted and fresh!

You can freeze them. Set them out the night before to let them thaw and then just prepare them the next morning.
