No, I am going to shock you by telling you that not onlycan a christian can be compassionate, any human can be.Jesus did tell us to be kind and to love one another but I am sure that an atheist can be compassionate as well. But there are a lot of people who come to R.&.S. who claim to be athiest's who are not showing kindness or compassion here.

compassion is unconditioned love,it is in everyone of us,in the true self,you have wisdom and compassion,we need religion to discover the inner-self,to make us more compassionate

I'm more compassionate than most religious folks I know. I know people do stupid stuff and make mistakes I don't try to compare them to "god"
