I have a 1993 Dodge Dakota. One day the headlights would not shut off and teh high beam indication on the dash will not go out when moving the multifuction switch. I pulled the fuse from under the hood and replaced it. Since that did not work I installed a new headlamp switch. To my surprise that did not work either. There does not appear to be any shorts.

Any suggestions as to what I might try next, other than going to a repair shop?

My mom had this same problem. She took it to the dealership and the did a couple things and they said it was fine. but then it started again about a month later. She took it in again (to a different dealership) and she found out that it was the electrical panel in the drivers door. I guess moisture can get to them and it completely destroys the whole panel. I forget exactly what she had done, but she made them fix were the water leaks in!! Do you ever get moister in the carpet on the drivers side? Hope this helps!!

Probably the headlight control module, or light control module. Not sure what they call it on a Dodge. Ask the dealer where they hid it, it has a small computer chip in it, and some logic relays. I have NO idea why the new cars have them, when the old ones did well without them.

it should not be a means problem because of the fact there is not any means to the headlamps whilst they are became off. So it is going to be an earth problem. in all probability somebody has under pressure the radio earth cord to the headlamps cord. this might make the radio paintings ok whilst the lighting fixtures furnishings are off because of the fact it could earth for the period of the lamps, even in spite of the shown fact that whilst the lighting fixtures furnishings are became on earth for the period of the lighting fixtures furnishings will become a posative feed for this reason struggling with the radio from working. do no longer in basic terms earth the radio as this might reason a quick circuit. become conscious of the incorrect cord are re-place it to earth. i won't assure it extremely is the subject even in spite of the shown fact that it quite appears like.

If you have a voltage meter check for votage drop across wires and their might be a ground wire that is giving you the problem. Have to check from all wireing harneses that leads to Head light get a wire diagram....!!!! You can check the frame as well and see if current power is there.
