That I can stand. We have a lot of pop music too, like Who Let the Dogs Out, the Beach Boys, 50's songs, etc they like too.

I have to say I don't mind Laurie Berkner's music. Also the soundtrack to the Curious George movie is great, its all Jack Johnson music.

God Rocks, The Wiggles, Disney songs, etc - keep it "age appropriate". The Beach boys are good, the Jackson 5 would probably be ok, most of the old music is fine.

I do NOT think it's one bit cute when little ones are singing songs with inappropriate / offensive lyrics. (And the parents of those little ones won't think it's so cute anymore when the little ones start talking to THEM like that!)

50's doowop music is great for toddlers. I also like the Veggie Tales CDs. Kids CDs are not usually expensive. It might be worth it to spend the money experimenting. You could always resell them later at a yard sale or something. I'd look for something with classic children's songs such as "B-I-N-G-O," "Old McDonald," and "This Old Man."

I have to say my daughters LOVE the Gymboree music and Ralph's World from Disney. Yes the music may drive us adults crazy at times, but if they are happy you are happy. Plus my 2 year old is very entertaining now that she know the words and dances along. VERY CUTE!

oh.. my brother just copied me a GREAT CD from one of his favorite bands....apparently the singer made a CD for his daughter and it was tolerable to adults but great for kids.... It is called The Terrible Twos-If You Ever See an Owl

i can't stand the kids music either, so i just listen to my music. the kids don't care what they listen to when they're young, but just make it fun. my kids love to listen to music with me and dance around the house. i listen to all kinds of music, so they get to hear variety. just make sure it's suitable for the kids ears!

I hate to say it... but my kids loved Raffi. I think it was the tone in his voice. My kids also like the early Beatles as well.
