does anyone know what type of bird it is? is it a wild bird found in the usa or do you think its one someone has bought it and set free? im from the uk so i dont know the types of birds found in the usa

I am betting its a House Finch. The males are small red birds. Here are a couple of picture:

There is a lot of variability in the amount of red, as you can see from these 2 pictures.
