It's a staph infection. Use antibacterial soap. Try to keep the area clean and dry. Have you been ill or are you run down? If so, rest and recuperate. Usually your body can fight this off fairly easily. If you haven't been ill, you should probably schedule a check up. Insulin imbalance can also cause this kind of skin erruption.

Boils can be treated by applying a home made cloth bandage dipped in warm salt water to the affected area. This will help the boil burst and drain more quickly. You can find a lot of information on causes,treatment,home remedies and prevention of boils at http://ailments.in/boil.html

Boils are caused by the staph bacteria. Since you have several and they are large you need to go to your regular doc and get these treated. He will probably prescribe antibiotics to get this under control. Do not keep using ER as this is for emergencies not regular medical things that can be treated by your regular doc.

Nonono. No form of cancer, it just happens to some people more than others. I've had them several times, and they HURT!
You can try to help it yourself; Here's what my dr. recommended:
1) Take 3 15min baths, in warm soapy water. Push on the boil, to try to break up the core.
2) Keep covered, and try to put a drawing ointment on it. Keep area clean and dry.
3) It's okay to try to pop it yourself;
After a reasonable amount of time (or until you can't take it anymore), go to an Urgent Care (cheaper than ER) and have them lance it; that is cut it open to remove the core. (sometime the core can be so big that it HAS to be lanced to remove it.)
I know the lancing is painful, which is why I encourage you to work on it yourself. :o)
I actually have one on my leg that I'm trying to rid, also!
Good luck!

Are you on any kind of medication that could have such side effects? I was on the contraceptive pill for three days once and got a boil on my leg, stopped the pill and boil disappeared.

Go to the grocery store and buy a large box of raisins and eat a handful everyday. This is an old time remedy, but it will get rid of your boils.
