You can buy carbonated flavored water. You may have to try several different brands until you find the one you like, but I no longer buy pop for my family. I found "Sam's Choice" flavored water at Walmart (obviously) and the kids and I both love it. It tastes like pop but their are absolutely no additives.

It's time to find a replacement for that horrible soda. There is a small vitamin pack (powder - like koolaid) that you can buy at Costco (and probably other stores) that may help you. Anyway, you simply add the vitamin pack to your water, and this spices up the flavor - berry, kiwi strawberry, the list goes on. Believe me - water gets tiring and this is a good way to get your water consumption in.
There is also that Fitness water, Propel, or other kinds that taste a bit different and should not be found too be too bland (at least not every flavor!). Right now, start replacing one can of coke a day with a bottle of water. Perhaps, make a deal with yourself, that you can't have your next soda until you finish the water bottle (make it at least a 20 ounce). Or make every other drink water and every other one coke.
Be smart and just drop the coke altogether. You can make it through the physical withdrawal symptoms if you're determined enough. But as I said, if you do not want to go cold turkey, then wean yourself off it slowly.
A lot of weirdos, I mean, people, drink tea, but it tastes horrible to me!! - just another suggestion if you wanted to find a replacement for the soda.
Oh yeah, the obvious answer - drink juice in its place - drink 100% juice - even if it costs a bit more (unless you buy the store brand) - it's worth it.
Good luck!!

The trick is to keep track of how many you drink daily, to see if you are making progress in cutting back. I used to drink at least 12 Diet Cokes a day. Now I am down to 1 to 3 a day. I do not drink coffee or tea, so it's my only source of caffeine. Try cutting back 1 can for a couple of days, and then cut out another one for a few days, etc. After a few weeks you will be down to a normal level. I agree with the flavored waters from WalMart. They are really good. Propel is another option, but it soes have sugars in it. Gatorade has a lot of sugars, too.
But -- the key is to keep track of your daily consumption, so you know that you have cut back and stayed at the lower amount.

You should try tea. I was at a point where I had coke or dr. pepper all day long and nothing else. I started drinking iced tea instead about a month or 2 ago and now when I drink a coke I don't feel good. And, I lost weight and feel so much better. The first week or so I got headaches from lack of caffene and sugar but some tylenol and I was good.
Also...don't sweeten the tea. That kind of defeats the purpose. It may taste not so good at first but you can also get flavored tea. Peach, Rasberry...etc.

I'm in the same boat as you. I used to drink regular Coke and to break that habit I just completely cut it out. I had to either drink coffee or take something with caffiene in it though or I would get really bad headaches at first. Eventually they went away though and I was fine. Then I started drinking it again and tried to stop, but couldn't, to I switched to diet Coke. I've tried just cutting back, but it doesn't last long. I think the biggest thing is that you really have to want to stop drinking it and be motivated. Just like with anything else. It's hard to break a habit, especially when it's something you love, but if you're motivated enough, you can do it. Good luck!

First do not buy anymore coke or pepsi.
Second, I hate water too. I have lost 5 lbs since not drinking carbonated drinks. What I do is drink sugar free kool-aid. I now have a new addiction to kool-aid and really don't drink a 12oz. can of coke unless I'm out to eat or visiting family.

I am 26.. and since i was about 16 i've drank on average 5 or 6 pepsi's a day...
around my 20's i tried cutting down.. I stopped keeping pepsi around the house.. so if i wanted one i had to go buy it from a store..
this year i decided i wanted to cut it out completly (did you know 1 pop a day adds 15 lbs to your waist line)
So far I have done pretty well I am down to about one a week.. and I think I'm happy with that level of pop drinking..
the way ive done it is just to not buy it.. decided that i didn't really want that extra 15 on my waist line (i dont' think it matters if its diet or not)...
secondly.. its just will power to quit

those crystal light packets of flavored powder really help me drink water and since you are obviously addicted to caffeine then try drinking the double shot expressos by Starbucks because if you don't like coffee then at least its a smaller amount and its for sure better for you then diet sodas(which are horrible for you)

1) Get some Gatorade, Powerade, or flavored water.
2) Cut down slowly. You don't want to completly get rid of it at first.
3) When you get used to drinking something else get rid of the pop.
4) Have someone hide or dispose of all the pop in your house.
5) Have Fun!!!!!

I used to drink alot of diet sodas, but then I started drinking water, it works best for me to keep my weight down and stops me from edema in my ankles. I still drink diet dr. pepper, berries and cream, but I drink water too. Just do it !
