Fugu, a Japanese blowfish is probably the deadliest food in the world. If prepared incorrectly, it will kill a person almost immediately. That is why chefs that prepare this dish have to be experts on the subject.

(Homer Simpson once ate Fugu and though he would die because it was prepared by a rookie chef while the head chef was making out with Miss Krabappel) ;)

No you can not die from cooking fish the wrong way. Well not unless you cook it and add something poisonous to it like say cyanide. At worst cooking fish "wrong" would be taking an old smelly fish and under-cooking it and getting sick. As for the fugu comments, fugu is extremely rare and had to come by. Most sushi bars will not even carry or order it. Also the cost is very high to buy it so you could not really get it by accident. And lastly you don't cook fugu, it is served raw.

Unless you seek medical help immediately, you can die from food poisoning. Not just from "cooking fish the wrong way" but from any food item that may have been contaminated.

Fish is best cooked well done - low heat, longer cooking time.

Fish needs to be fully cooked without the guts.We eat all differents kinds of fish, never heard of it killing someone, unless they are allergic to it. I have heard of someone dying from eating fish and drinking milk with it,but, I don't believe that would really kill someone. We eat fish boiled, fryed, baked, made into patties and baked.but, never raw.

If its not cooked properly, you could get sick. Dying, I don't know, unless the fish has been purposely poisoned.
