I have spoken to Muslim men before & they say how they get 72 virgins in Heaven. Do they only get them in jihad, or do they always get them? The woman who blew herself up in jihad last year, does she go to heaven & what is her reward if she does? I ask this out of sincerity, as I do not know the answers.

But no one has ever said anything about the women. Do they go to heaven? If so, are the requirements different for women than men? Are these 72 virgins for each man, virgins that died & are now there for them? or are they just always there in Heaven waiting for them?

This is a serious question. There is no attempt at mockery.

justsyd:
I understand jihad. Do they (men or women) go to heaven during war acts?

idahomik, kenny, santana:
I am a Christian & belive in Jesus. I think your points are fine. But all religions have their version of Heaven. Jews, Muslim, Christian, Buddist, Hindu etc. I am trying to get an understanding of Muslims b/c I dont know it. Instead of riddiculing all religions like the athiests do here, I am trying to understand others. That does not make me a Muslim or anything else, other than curious.

david i:
glad your not gay anymore, but that has nothing to do with the question.

travelguru:
that doesnt make sense! mothers are women. Do women just get a soul when they have kids? Is that why hes an ex?

jdj34:
how in the world do you turn this into a math problem?

dbznut:
ok, i can understand it means "a lot" (thank you for clarifying that, no one else did), but you say women get the same reward. Does that mean women get "a lot" of virgin men?

That He may admit the men and women who believe, to Gardens beneath which rivers flow, to dwell therein for aye, and remove their ills from them;- and that is, in the sight of Allah, the highest achievement (for man),- [Quran 48:5]

Verily, the Muslims (those who submit to Allah in Islam) men and women, the believers men and women (who believe in Islamic Monotheism), the men and the women who are obedient (to Allah), the men and women who are truthful (in their speech and deeds), the men and the women who are patient (in performing all the duties which Allah has ordered and in abstaining from all that Allah has forbidden), the men and the women who are humble (before their Lord Allah), the men and the women who give Sadaqat (i.e. Zakat, and alms, etc.), the men and the women who observe Saum (fast) (the obligatory fasting during the month of Ramadan, and the optional Nawafil fasting), the men and the women who guard their chastity (from illegal sexual acts) and the men and the women who remember Allah much with their hearts and tongues Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise). [Quran 33:5]

As for the 'virgins' they are a special creation that Allah makes for the believing men, they are not the women of this world.

I firstly thought this is going to be a healthy discussion, however it seems that most of you guys answer without citing references whether Islamic or not. This is not how facts are to be sought.

Many of the answers cite references in your own minds that are propagated by media (whether Islamic or otherwise).

I'm not trying to play smart, but the correct (scientific) way is to cite a reference when bringing about a claim, but no need for citation when expressing your opinion about the claim.

If Islam claimed that women won't go to heaven, it wouldn't have made a the fourth Chapter in the Quran to have the title "Women" and wouldn't also have dedicated the 19th chapter for for the praise of Mary under the title "Mary."

Also, the Quran praised many women while disparaging their husbands, (that wouldn't have occurred if Quran was misogynistic), so you can see in chapter 66, verse 11:
And Allah sets forth, as an example to those who believe the wife of Pharaoh: Behold she said: "O my Lord! Build for me, in nearness to Thee, a mansion in the Garden, and save me from Pharaoh and his doings, and save me from those that do wrong".

You can notice the direct mention of the heaven in the supplication of this woman and how the Quran holds this supplication as an example of all women to follow when they face oppression and ask god for heaven.

Yes women go to heaven. The Quran states that both men and women will enter paradise. Allah/God does not discriminate against sex like humans do. The 72 virgins rumour is just that, a rumour. It has no factual basis and no Islamic source.

If you commit suicide you don't go to heaven. Period. Doesn't matter if your a guy of girl.

IN general, the reward for a woman is the same as a man, women in islam are equal.

same reward in heaven.

By the way,72 doesn't mean 72 exactly, it just means many,
Forexample, If I tell you "I told you a 100 times don't do that", DOes it mean I told you a 100 times, NO.

It only means many.

The 72 virgins thing is a crock made up by Islamic haters. You didn't speak to real Muslims. Yes, they go to heaven. The Quran says nothing about 72 virgins, and it says that men and women will go to heaven. Jihad means a personal struggle.

Nope - their incorrect. the 1st females in paradise would be a dependable spouse of a woodcutter interior the time of the Prophet Muhammad(pbuh). This females tended to her husbands each and every want and cared nicely for her chastity and faith too. This females might have the honour of getting into paradise in the previous any of the different halves of the prophets(pbut) or maybe their mothers. additionally there's a door to paradise specifically for oldsters who cared for their daughters and not a single one for oldsters who cared for their sons. there is likewise the hadith that each and every females might desire to take 4 adult men to heaven or hell along with her - regardless of in the event that they're deserving. those would be: her father, husband, brother and son. there are a number of extra such hadith that place females above adult men in many regards. Islam does no longer enable ritual celibacy, so despite she is pondering "virgins in heaven" is incorrect. no person is certain a place in heaven -guy or females. despite in the event that they have finished extra stable than undesirable, it is not with out the mercy of Allah that someone will enter. So lower back she is incorrect in thinking the "rule" is barely for females.

I read in the Koran that there will be more women in hell than men because they disobey their husbands. If you ask your question again and think of the answer mathematically, you will find that the answer doesnt match with the 72 virgins scenario. The answer would contradict the Koran!

UNLESS

Not many men will be entering heaven.

The people who are blowing themselves up along with innocent men, women and children are in for a nasty surprise.

They will find themselves in the hall of justice with their hearts hanging in the balance against the feather of truth. Those who have lived a life of discord and distruction will have their heavy hearts testify against them.

These will be sent to the devourer of souls and lapse into non-existance.
