I have a story on a floppy disk. It is about 100- 110 or more pages. I`ll insert the floppy, and it will make a noise for a long time, then it may load, but then I can`t read it or anything. It is from October of 05. I really would like to be able to load it.

if i insert other floppies, they work fine, but this one....

There is a very less chance to recover the story if floppy is giving sound or not open when click on it. if you want to check floppy drive is ok then insert new floppy and check it works or not

Sounds like the disk has gone bad. They have a life expectancy of about 2 years. Unfortunately there is rarely anything that can be done to recover files from a bad floppy.

Sounds like the floppy might be unreadable.
Try cleaning the drive (qtip & alcohol).
Try a different floppy drive (the alignment might be off)
If all else fails, try a data recovery program.
