Its a general degree where the student studies the general subjects without concentrating on one major or another.

This may be "Liberal Arts," which refers to a general study of the "humanities" such as history, literature, writing. Might include the social sciences, such as sociology and psychology.

It's a good track for someone who wants to be a lawyer. But it also works for teachers, journalists, historians, authors, and so forth.
