If you think that Brasserie Julien is the best French restaurant on the Upper East Side, better than Daniel, better than Jean Georges, better than L'Absinthe, etc, please never recommend a restaurant for me.

Last time I checked Jon Georges was on the Upper Westside, but who's counting. well, as far as best French restaurants on upper east side one would have to go by Zagats and that would limit you to Daniel. Don't know who you are who are listing the question, but didn't think this was the place for advertising. I find this to be quite offensive. Take out an ad some place else if you want people to find out about your restaurant. This is not going to get me to try your restaurant. Offensive.

My ULTIMATE favorite French in all of Manhatten is La Grenouille. Brasserie J is more of a bistro type restaurant. Although, it is good, it is by no means the "Best French" in the city.

Have you eaten at Cafe Boulud, Daniel, Jean Georges, or even Eleven Madison Park? Look into those places as well. You will be quite pleased!

According to this list I found, Jean Georges is the editorial winner, so it might just be worth checking out.

Daniel is easily the best choice. Bon Appetit.
