It seems that we just got the "why are there still apes" question, followed by the Christians complaining that OF COURSE they know Jesus was Jewish, so I think this old gem of a question deserves to be asked.
If, indeed, as antisecularists claim, things must disappear in order for a new thing to exist, please, please, please explain why there are still Jews.....

It's an interesting evolutionary counter-argument Labgrrrl. To bad most of the people who have answered are completely missing the point...

Jews are a people that believe a particular part of the old sacred scripture with all of its history, laws, ways to keep clean, revelations, etc. Jews are God's people and will never go away. They are a great people devoted to God! Jesus came to the Jews to make them better as he did Christians. But the Jews didn't believe he was "thee Christ" and some power hungry people ended up making false accusations against Him and incited the crowd to put him to death. Most Jews thought he was another prophet that came to warn them to change but they thought he may be a false prophet. The Jews really wanted a king to fight their persecutors. Jesus healed the sick and gave sight to the blind and raised Lazerus from the dead. It still was questioned by the Pharasees as false. But there were some Jews and others that believed in his teachings of love, forgiveness, keeping God first and helping others. They started the Christian movement while Jesus was on Earth. When JC died, the Christians lost Jesus but the movement went on through Paul the Rock by the power of the Holy Spirit (God). The religion flourishes today through the HS and the successors of Jesus, then Paul and now the Popes. Religion still is at odds with what Jesus said and if he was the Christ. That is where we get our mixed messages. We all have to wonder why we are all still here when we make a mess of everything. Well I know the answer and that is God has great expectations from all of us and I guess he feels we are his creation and worth redeeming.

Christians were once Jews who came to accept Jesus. Jews are still here because, as it was written in the Bible, the Roman Government did all their best to say lies about Jesus, like when Jesus became alive again, those who oppose Jesus spread the news that Jesus's body had been stolen and that the followers of Jesus would start saying that Jesus came back to life. that is how it is. most jews did not believe Jesus.

Changing religious beliefs is not evolution. If you decided to join another religious group, would you expect all members of your old religion to disappear ?
This monkey thing keeps popping up. Darwin never claimed that humans evolved from monkeys, He did say that , at one stage humans may have been ape-like. Resembling apes, and being apes are two different things.

Where have you taken your words that Christians evolved from Jews? Who told you that way? Christians are the same creatures of God as of the Jews. Jews are also human beings, like us who are Christians. Where have taken that very wrong logic of asking questions and comments.
Do you know who are Jews? -- Jews are people from ancient Judea ,believers of Judaism.. There are still people called Jews because they live in that place, meaning they are citizens of that country.
You are like asking the question why there are s till Indian people. and there are Indian people because they are citizen and are living in India. Is that clear to you my friend.?

Ummm... ok it is really quite simple....
Jews existed... when Jesus came along some believed he was the son of God and some didn't.
Those who did believe branched off and Christianity was formed... those who didnt remained Jews

Jesus predicts his rejection and death:
Mark 8:31
He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again.
The elders, chief priests and teachers of the law were Jews, they didn't recognize him as The Messiah that would fulfill the law that they spent their lives upholding. I don't know what constitutes an antisecularist, or that something must disappear for something new to exist....basically there are still Jews because they are still awaiting The Messiah....

Jews aren't a seperate specie. They are distinguished by their religion. Christianity is another idea based on theirs, furthermore Islam is just a mixture of the first two with some ancient tribal beliefs mixed in.
How could you even - oh wait.... You were just being sarcastic weren't you? Now I feel silly.

At first I thought it was just a cute question.
But now I wonder how many latent anti-semites out there will come up with one more reason to believe that jews are somehow less-evolved and like apes.

Jesus wasn't a Jew.Christians aren't evolved Jews. And the people calling themselves Jews are not the ancient Hebrew Israelites of the Bible. And "Israel" is actually Palestine.Learn history before spouting off at the mouth at what Christians believe.
