How do I call the UK, how do I do it?

I dont know the correct way to dial out.

dial 0044 and then drop the first 0 from the area code

From the US, dial 01144 followed by the UK number. 011 is the code used in the US to designate an international call, and 44 is the UK's country code.

I did this and the phone company charged $185 for two, calls only 1/2 hour each - more taxes on overseas calls.

you need the country code,
you need the provence or section of the country code.
Usually the person you are calling will provide these numbers.

Why call - when email is FREE. - if they're relatives or friends, you can get a webcam for about $20 at Kmart, and send them pics of you while you email using yahoo instant messenger, or windows messenger.

Find out country code,than if there is such thing are code and than phone number,USE phone cards though cause its much cheaper.
