Only if you want to.

If you honestly forgot or did not realize it was Friday, then there was no foul commmitted.

I was with some people who waited until the stroke of midnight (saturday) to eat meat so they wouldn't "break the rules". This is not anything that is scriptural, nor is it even the reason the catholic church instated this "rule". You are probably worse for counting down those seconds, etc than just eating the meat in the first place. It shows that your heart may very well not be in the right place. If you feel like you need/want to go a day without meat, by all means do so. But do so for the correct reasons...not because you are going to feel guilty if you don't. As someone else said, dwelling on guilt is sin...all guilt comes from the devil. God convicts you so you will repent and be forgiven. The devil will tell you to feel guilty so that you aren't effective for God.

Well, I´m a practising catholic, I don´t eat meat on Fridays. I´m telling you this so that you don´t think this answer comes from an irreligious person.
Don´t worry about it.God understands you forgot it was Friday. You didn´t sin . Don´t go an extra day without meat. God is a loving God and hates legalism!!!

I ate meat last Friday too, the only thing wrong with me eating lamb is cannabalism. I fail to see the problem with you eating meat, did you not like it, did it make you sick?

If it really must come down to Hell or a ham sandwich, go the extra day.

Why? I hardly think you are on a swift boat to hell. Why does it matter so much my dear? Whoever or whatever God is, I'm sure it makes no never mind to him/her/it. After all, didn't Jesus say that its not what goes into the mouth that's important, but what comes out of it.? Relax- you're going to be fine!

If it makes you feel better, go an extra day without meat. It was not an intentional act, you did not waste food. It no doubt caused no scandal.

It was an accident. You have been doing your level best to observe lent.

Do whatever you feel is right, cause honestly that's what this is about.

If you feel you need an extra day, take an extra day.

Personally I wouldn't sweat it.

If you are still unsure, then you should pray for guidance.

Why get tied up in legalism?

The purpose of lent is spiritual growth, and not a legalistic adherence to a set of rules. Even Jesus broke rules by healing on the sabbath.

If your intention was not to err, then no sin or error was committed. Further, you should consider a 'day' to be a meaningful day to you, a period where you wake up, are awake for a significant period of time, and go back to sleep. Following the clock is legalistic and you should avoid legalism.

If it would be meaningful for you, then you are of course free to offer your sacrifice on another day, but it is not required of you.
